That stuff looks completely different from Astalos equipment, aside from the really technological appearance. The Switch Axe does water damage, so it’s probably some water monster we don’t know about yet.

Very new to playing Monster Hunter, but I’m really liking the Switchaxe so far. Still working on the exploding, but the combination of speed and heft is really selling it for me.

Oh boy, my favourite weapon got even more fun toys to play with. :P

Why they go with terrible MH4 controls instead of MHGU style is infuriating.

Why are the sound effects for this weapon so bad now? It sounds like you're hitting the thing with a small club or a rolled up newspaper.

Because there are two development teams with Monster Hunter and one of them makes them for handhelds. This just happens to be their next game. Also portable MH is usually more popular with its home audience in Japan, and this can be seen in Rise with its heavy Japanese feel and aesthetic. Contrast that to World's more grounded look and Western tone. You could wait for the next home console game by the other team, but that might not be a thing until 2023 since the life of a Monster Hunter game usually lasts for 2 years.

The line "best switch up that attitude or I'll have a serious axe to grind" seems to work well here.

I am hyped to play this on pc

The new skills were needed. The Switch Axe, despite me maining it, had some drawbacks that kept it from being really good. A lack of any defence meant that players had a high skill demand when it came to dodging, and mobility was limited. This made the Switch Axe unwieldy and, eventually, insufficient for taking on fast targets, even some Elder Dragons. The Protective Gambit is definitely an upgrade that will help it. Even one move that grants some kind of super armour-like effect was needed for those of low skill, as before the Switch Axe was a rather highly demanding weapon, requiring attention and patience. The new moves will help out a lot, for both new and older players, both beginners and pros.

There is a reason charge blade will always be better than switch axe and its because one is an axe that becomes a sword to get stronger while the other is a sns that becomes a chad axe to get stronger

In my opinion, seems to be some kind of an metallic Nargacuga armor, just because of the red stripes, black paint, and yellow light, cause of Nargacuga's eyes.

Reduced particle effects and explosions since it is on a weaker hardware than MHW. They also took out the dust effect from MHW. Though, I dont get why the sound effects seems to be quieter and weaker than World.
